Apple may be planning to launch the next iPad Pro between September and November this year. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has a good track record when it comes to information related to Apple’s upcoming products, the iPad Pro, currently in development, will feature the rumoured M2 chip. While the M2 chip is expected to make the iPad Pro ever so powerful, Apple may also be looking to add MagSafe charging to its iPad Pro this year.
The last major upgrade to the iPad Pro lineup came in 2018 when Apple introduced a redesign that comprised of an edge-to-edge display, a USB-C port, and sharp corners. The design of the iPad Pro since then has been more or less the same, but Apple brought better performance with the M1 chip on last year’s model. The iPad Pro M1 was launched in May, and this year’s iPad Pro with M2 is reportedly set for launch between September and November, Gurman said.
A rumoured date between September and November this year for the launch of the new iPad Pro model means that Apple would spend more than one year working on the new model. This time gap should indicate that significant changes are coming. Among them will be the M2 chip, which will reportedly be more powerful and better in terms of handling high-end graphics than the M1. Gurman previously tipped that the Apple M2 processor will come with the same eight-core architecture as the predecessor, but will have better graphics performance. It, however, will not match the performance of an M1 Pro, M1 Max, or M1 Ultra chip.
